Vienna VA, June11, 2009—MicroTech, a leading Information Technology provider and systems integrator, is pleased to announce its approval for the latest revision of the ISO 9001 standard – ISO 9001:2008 – the world's most widely used Quality Management System (QMS) benchmark. International certification body Intertek conducted an intensive audit of the processes and procedures in place at MicroTech corporate headquarters to verify compliance to the ISO standard. MicroTech has held continuous ISO 9001 certification since November 2008 when it was certified using the 2000 standard.

ISO 9001 was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). To be certified to the standard, companies must implement a well documented QMS that ensures consistency and improvement of working practices, including products and services produced. ISO certification reinforces through an independent third-party that MicroTech operates a QMS in accordance with the updated standard. ISO 9001:2008 introduces clarifications to the requirements existing in ISO 9001:2000, based on user experience over the last eight years, including continued focus on the customer and the commitment to continually improving business processes.

“Achieving the ISO 2000 certification was a definite milestone for us but the 2008 upgrade reaffirms our unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and continual improvement,” said Tony Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech. “With a strong management team, excellent internal training, and a dedication to delivering quality products and services, MicroTech has earned a well-regarded reputation among customers for outstanding performance of their mission-critical applications.”

The ISO 9001:2008 certification confirms that MicroTech’s management practices and processes are tightly controlled and consistently applied. Because MicroTech procedures are honed and developed with customers in mind, QMS standards play a more critical role in the actual services provided. Total quality of the service delivery is enhanced and improved through the reduction of process inconsistencies, and customer feedback becomes paramount to decisions made by MicroTech management in the future direction of what the organization can provide.

"This noteworthy Quality Management System recognition speaks directly to our customers and declares that they are working with an organization that prides itself in incorporating the very best industry practices and processes, consistently striving to make a good thing even better," Jimenez said.
